About us

The Central Coast Islamic Center is a non-profit 501C religious organization located in the city of Santa Maria California. The Center Coast Islamic Center was established in 2002 by a small grid Muslim brothers who are living around Santa Maria, Orcutt, Nipomo and City of Arroyo Grande and were looking for a place to gather and worship. Central Coast Islamic Center rented a small office space in the commercial plaza and offered Friday Prayers and Sunday Islamic School.

Initially back in 1993 the group would meet in each other’s home for their Friday prayers and other religious activities. However, as the Muslim community in Santa Maria and the surrounding areas grew, the need for a permanent mosque became apparent.

In 2022, the founding members and volunteers worked tirelessly to expand the Central Coast Islamic Center of Santa Maria and moved to a larger office space in the same building on the first floor. New facility now provides space for about 100 worshipers in Masjid. New larger space now providing access to the elderly and the disabled via ramp, a separate entrance for privacy and room for ladies. CCIC Masjid has been expanding social activities such as weekly Sunday School, in Ramadan iftar service and then Eid celebrations.

CCIC Masjid is located right of the Freeway 101 at West Main Street that makes convenient place of worship for Muslims that are travelling between Los Angeles and San Francisco.
